To assist MSPs in seizing these opportunities, we have developed the MSP AI e7 Framework, inspired by Art Gross’s book "From Prompt to Profit: The MSP Playbook for AI-Driven Client Success." His work has helped clarify our approach and reinforced the importance of immediate, structured client engagement.

Build awareness within your client base about your AI capabilities. Even if you are just beginning your AI journey, it is imperative that your clients understand that you are there to help them navigate the maze of issues that arise when building out an AI infrastructure.
Lean into what you already know well and understand - begin with helping your clients deploy AI safely & securely.

Assess the primary AI tools and identify additional solutions best suited to client needs. Begin by procuring and learning the Big 3 - ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Google's Gemini.
Once you and your Team are comfortable that you can leverage, procure, deploy, integrate, and secure these tools effectively - begin looking into other more specialized tools that may be relevant to your clients.
These tools could include Perplexity which is perfect for research or
Synthesia or Google’s Veo3 for content creation that are vital to marketing teams.

Eat your own dog food. Implement AI within your own business, developing case studies and success stories across all operational areas.
Remember, your business has all of the same functional areas that your clients have - be your own best success story.
Look to create assistants that solves a problem in each area - Sales, Marketing, Operations, HR, Finance, and Customer Service.

Begin by informing clients about AI security and compliance, then utilize third-party resources (like Breach Secure Now, our preferred training partner) for comprehensive training.
This will allow for a solid foundation, then you can begin tackling productivity issues on a department-by-department basis.
Begin looking for areas that can be improved with AI and will provide a solid return on investment (ROI) for the client.

Provide strategic recommendations that solve departmental challenges, create incremental wins, and deliver solid ROI.
The intent is to begin small and start showing your client's that AI delivers strong results quickly, and that their people are more efficient when they have an AI Assistant performing certain tasks on their behalf.
Look for mundane, error-prone activities that are easily understood, consume people's valuable cycles, and are vital to the client's workflow.

Develop expertise in managing and supporting clients’ AI infrastructure. When you are initially beginning your AI journey and building expertise you can provide immediate value with the things you already have mastered.
Look to focus on things you do well today. Things like product procurement, license provisioning, deployment, integration, security, compliance, management, and reporting.
It's not important out of the gate to be an expert, rather focus on being an advisor. Practical knowledge beats theoretical knowledge - clients pay for guidance, not complexity

As you gain confidence and experience it's time to expand the pace of your recommendations and associated opportunities.
Scale AI initiatives across departments and integrate with existing systems as experience grows.
Look to build on your early wins and begin adding more AI Assistants and begin the process of linking them to orchestrate solutions that drive beneficial advances for your clients - all the while building case studies, delivering value, and delivering solid ROI.
